instead of giving a teether, i would suggest give chilled carrots sticks for the baby to chew on, as it is safe and nutritious too. once the baby starts the teething phase, which could be anywhere between the 3rd to the 8th month or even later, you can give the same. your baby will start chewing on the fingers as a sign of teething, and you can give the carrot sticks then.

The vast majority of babies sprout their first tooth when they're between 4 and 7 months old. An early developer may get his first white cap as early as 3 months, while a late bloomer may have to wait until he's a year old or more. So depending upon when the tooth sprouts, teether can be given to the baby :)
