Do you often get snide remarks from relatives, especially the older or more traditional ones, implying that sons are better?

Though, my in-laws did not part away with the golden coins they had promised to give to me when I would deliver (anticipating strongly that it would be a baby boy), they treat my daughter well. They are of the old mindset and are biased towards sons and grandsons, but thankfully, they only held themselves back for the golden coins, and not in showering their love for my baby girl.
