Did you have to choose between career or family? How did you make your decision?

Luckily, not. I know choosing doesn't really mean giving up one for the sake of the other (or we can also take it as that some time) but for me, I both enjoy my career and my family and I need not to make a choice. Both sides of my life is not so high-maintenance haha! Kidding aside, I'm just thankful that I can say that I'm living work-life balance for real. My bosses are so understanding and flexible when an urgent, family matter goes up and on the other hand, my family knows who pressured and stressful my career life can be at some point so they too understand if I needed more hours or days at work. And yea, I must agree to Phil's two cents above. It's just a matter of maintaining the good balance.

I would say you can choose both. It's all about maintaining a solid work-life balance with your family. Tons of people opt for both and there's nothing wrong with doing so.
