Am I entitled to select the gender and profile of my baby through ART?
Do I need to opt for caesarean birth if I conceive via ART?
No you do not need to choose to have a Caesarean section . The choice of the birth route depends on obstetric factors and your preference
I am 45 years old can I do ivf to get pregnant?
At 45, we would like to assess your fertility potential before we proceed to IVF and your partner as well. Everyone has a different egg reserve . So we would love to see how we can help you
How often must I go for checkups after a IVF procedure?
It really depends on your needs and wants
Typically how much budget should you set aside for ART
Cost of IVF is made up of 2 parts , the cost of medications and the cost of the lab. The latter is available on each centres website and medications are really determined by age and one’s hormone results eg AMH
Is bed rest needed after IVF embryo transfer?
No need for complete bed rest. More rest hydration and no high impact workouts would be good .
Can I request for twins or triplets with ART?
Actually having multiple pregnancies is not the goal of IVF as these are high risk pregnancies and in some instances the twins may be born extremely premature which would be certainly undesirable as they may have developmental issues . Hence we always advice that couples consider one blastocyst transfer or maximally 2 day 3 embryos only .
would love to hear more about it
looking forward to this!👍🏽
IUI or IVF - which is more effective?
IUI success rates range between 12-15% per cycle . The success depends on the quality and quantity of the semen and the number of eggs there are that cycle . The aim is not to have too many eggs and avoid having high order multiple pregnancies. IVF defintely has a much higher chance of success for the time spent . The success rates depends again on the male and female factors but we have achieved more than 50% ( do check out our Virtus Webiste )
