For breastfeeding moms, is it true that weaning is a bittersweet moment? I've read weaning stories at Breastfeeding Pinays and some of them still nurse their kids even at 4 years old. With all the bond, sacrifices and effort, I feel hurt for the mom that she is realizing her kid has already grown up. It makes me quite sad.

It's true! I just weaned my daughter 2 weekends ago and I can still remember how sad I was during our last latch. At the same time though, I was pretty excited to get my schedule and non-breastfeeding wardrobe back! Now that I'm slowly decreasing my supply, I find it so odd that I used to tell my body to produce more and more and now I'm doing the opposite!
