How old is your child? This could just be normal and nothing to worry about. It could be a phase or regression. If you don't see any physical reasons (like illness, wet diapers, too hot or too cold, or hungry) why your child is crying, it might be just a developmental leap as your child goes through progression. Babies go through a lot of brain development and they get overwhelmed, that's why they can go through sleep regression. Try to establish a consistent bedtime routine. Avoid over stimulation before sleeping. And provide reassurance to make him/her feel safe. If the crying gets worse and inconsolable, maybe then it's time to talk to a doctor.
