Baby is not taking milk since 8 month...

My baby has been taking milk every 2 hourly up till 7month plus. But when he turned 8 mo he has been rejecting milk, wanting more solid food such as bread, cereal, porridge etc. One of his front tooth has recently erupted and he began to drink milk a lil but not as much as it should be. Is it normal or do I need to bring him to doctor?
