The doctor is right. It’s milk strike. My girl has it too when she’s about 2-3 mo old. So the pd says to go along with the cues, don’t force feed or else it’s very traumatic for the baby and all the more don’t wanna drink it. You can switch to a bigger teat or a brand of bottle (she was drinking Pigeon and it’s too slow for her, I switch to avent and she like the flow - fyi: I give newborn avent teat too). Adults don’t eat the same amount of food everyday, so it goes the same for baby. When they are hungry, they will ask for it. Just follow cues. For mine, my girl is not a big drinker. the intake didn’t increase eventually but she’s at a 50% for weight so I’m happy already.

I feel very relieved to hear that! I was worried about my baby’s milk intake since it is way lesser than the minimum amount. I will continue to feed on demand and monitor her weight. I hope that the baby will continue to grow well. Thank you for your answer.

Super Mum

Babies can enter a nursing strike for a variety of reasons that are both physical and emotional.  Is your baby on BM or formula? Have you tried cup feeding? you can get it here https://shopee.sg/product/265382348/3336013688?smtt=0.244843059-1641702769.9 hope this helps.

Thank you for your reply. I will check it out.
