baby couldn't focus on interaction

My baby is 5 months old and he seldom looks into my eyes. We played a lot with him. On top of that he does not coo back at me during interaction. Does anyone here encounter the same problem? If yes, what is the cause here? Thanks.

My son was like that too when he was around this age. I was concerned and checked with the PD who told me to continue observing. As he grew older, it got better. Now he is totally fine :)

What kind of play does he engage in? Are there distractions like other people talking or even someone using the phone/ipad at the same time?

He avoids eye contact with me when I cuddle with him or talk to him one to one. There is no other distraction when we play. Most of the time is only me and him. He will looks around but not me during play time. Strange thing is he looks deeply into strangers eye and laugh when they play or talk to him. No phone or iPad for him.

Please check with the PD on this. Perhaps you need to bond more with him. More skin to skin contact may help with bonding.
