Can anyone here recommend garden plants and flowers for my lawn? I really have no clue as to what plants to buy. :)

Succulents seem to be popular nowadays, because of their low-maintenance factor, and not to mention, they're also cute to look at. You can also try planting herbs and spices so you can have your own supply whenever you need them in the kitchen.
