Pulling/grabbing/hitting
9 months baby keeps pulling out ears, face, nose, skin… sometimes hitting very hard too. It’s so painful! Is this a developmental phase that will pass? Or something we need to “teach”? How to teach? No matter how I tell baby to use gentle hands, he keeps doing the same. It’s so frustrating!
Oh, I totally understand what you're going through! It can be really tough when your baby keeps pulling, grabbing, and even hitting you. Rest assured, this is actually a common developmental phase that many babies go through as they start exploring their surroundings and testing their limits. One way to approach this behavior is to gently redirect your baby's hands whenever they start pulling or hitting. You can do this by calmly saying "gentle hands" and showing them how to touch things softly. Be consistent with this approach and eventually, your baby will start to understand the concept of being gentle. Another technique is to provide your baby with safe and engaging toys to keep their hands occupied. This can help distract them from pulling or hitting and redirect their energy towards more appropriate activities. It's important to remember that this phase will pass with time and patience. Keep reinforcing the idea of gentle hands and eventually, your baby will learn to control their impulses. Hang in there, you're doing a great job! https://invl.io/cll6she
