My 6yo is asthmatic, (not extreme) and loves to dance. But she ends up wheezing at times. Should I discourage her from engaging in physical activities?

If she doesn't have extreme asthmatic problem then I don't she should be discouraged from dancing which she must be liking. All you can do is to put her in a dance form which is not very strenuous. Probably, you can get her learn Ballroom dancing, Ballet. You can be with her in the initial sessions and see how much toll is the dance form taking on her. If she is wheezing badly and you think it is not what she normally does, then you should not take a chance and can stop it. The best is, you must consult her doctor and seek his directions. If he is okay and thinks that with mild asthma as you mentioned, she can pull it off, you can continue the dance form. You can go through the following links and see how you can help your child build her stamina through exercise and then can use it for the activity that she loves. https://www.asthma.org.uk/advice/living-with-asthma/exercise-and-activities/ http://www.express.co.uk/life-style/health/147501/Swimming-Beneficial-for-asthma
