Hello,
I think, when your kid throws a tantrum, ignore him. Leave him and do your regular errands and behave as if nothing is happening. Sometimes, kids do this to seek attention. Later, when he is over that moment and all is fine, talk to the kid and make him understand how his behaviour makes you sad. Talk lovingly to him and tell him that if he will not behave like that you are going to treat him. Initially you can do like this, and each time he does't behave like this when you expect him to do so, appreciate him. Applaud him controlling himself in front of other family members as well.
