Parenting Style

Recently me and my husband have been arguing over different parenting style. We are both working full time so we agreed to let my in laws to care for my LO. However, things started to be a little out of control when my in laws couldn’t care for my LO at most times. They will be caring for other grandchildren, bringing my LO to car rides while chauffeuring other grandchildren, make frequent plans to travel and expecting me and my husband to take leaves to care for my LO in their absence. I suggested to send my LO to infant care and in this case, everyone will be happy and convenient. We as the parents can work without worries, my LO can get proper care and attention and my in laws can care for their grandchildren and travel as and when they want to. But it seems like I’m the only one who like this idea. My husband and my in laws are strongly against sending my LO to infant care saying that she has missed watching her kids growing up so she want to make up. But in my mind, this is my kid, not yours, why do you wanna interfere with how I want to raise my kid just because you missed your chance? HELP!!!

I would just go ahead and apply for IFC. As you mentioned, she already have other grandchildren to care for and couldn’t care for your LO at most times so she probably won’t have enough attention on your LO to miss out any growing up moments. Missing milestones asides, touchwood when LO starts crawling and needs more attention by then, will his parents be able to assure they can handle? And it’s not saying LO is the only grandchild they need to handle, she will still get to experience other grandchild’s growing up. But do take note that once they attend IFC, you’ll need to arrange someone/take leave to take care of LO incase he/she falls sick (unavoidable).

Your hormones are changing mommy. I was super dry no matter how much I drink and scrub and moisturise after giving birth. I had 3-4 eye stye on both eyes for almost two months straight. Nothing we can do about it. It will fade eventually, just be patient with yourself. You are still recovering.

Postpartum urinary incontinence

Anyone encountered the above? PP day 23 and before birth I am able to pee halfway and then hold my urine for a few seconds, but after vaginal birth, I have difficulty controlling my urine. It is so upsetting. . When will this pass? Sigh .. Just a note, when I was in hospital - they had to put me on urine catheter (it was painful and super uncomfy for me) as I couldn't pass urine after giving birth. Till now I still feel the slight pain / uncomfortable feeling when I urine

For vaginal birth some will experience either difficulty to pee or cant control pee. Therefore advise to do kegel exercise or a proper post natal massage to "correct" your womb area. This help to better control pee/easily help you pee. If this is a prolong concern please do visit doctor and let them know.

Storing breast milk in office

Hello! Was wondering if anyone can share how they store breast milk and which bags / cooler they use when they need to pump in office and be able to store it for at least 5 hours? And would you recommend the method you tried? Thank you!

I use CeresChill. Save me the hassle frm bringing cooler bag, milk bags etc! I've tried leaving it out for more than 8 hours and still cold. That was when I was on holiday on a road trip. In the office, I just leave it in the fridge but sometimes I do not even have time to walk to the pantry, so I just leave it on my desk. Expensive but really worth the investment.

Do all babies need sleep training?

Hello, my daughter is 3.5 months and she wakes up 2-3 times a night to feed. However she falls back to sleep almost immediately each time so I was wondering if she still needs to be sleep trained? As it seems like she is waking up because she is hungry

My baby is just like yours.. I think sleep training will be more of how to train the baby to sleep independently? Can yours sleep without being carried or rocked? Mine still does..

Heeelpp!! Yellowish Watery Poop 😔

Hi Mummies!! Sorry for the pics but wanted to seek advice if its normal. Fetch daughter from infant care on friday and teacher mention she has watery poop but she was all fine before i send her. And up till today its still continue. Every milk feed (formula), she will pass motion.

my son will be turning 6 months old in 2 months. i was wondering what are the solids i should start introducing him to? whether it’s those puréed food in a jar or soft boiled veg is better? what is the suitable amount of milk should he be drinking once he starts solid as well?

We tried to maintain the milk intake in the beginning as baby didn’t really eat that much. We started with Gerber oatmeal and then bottled purées.

3 months old suddenly drinking less milk

My LO is now 3 months old. Suddenly for the past 1 week. He started drinking lesser breastmilk. He used to be on 130ml per feed and 6 feeds per day. Now he drinks only 90ml to 100ml and only 5 feeds per day. He is feeling ok, otherwise cranky at times. We tried to continue feeding him the remaining after 30mins still he didnt want to. My wife is super stressful now, anyone facing same problem?

3mo, probably teething stage? They tend to drink lesser due to discomfort from their gums during teething. Same goes for growth spurt, they will drink more than usual intake.
