I need to double confirm what to pack for hospital bag.

Depending on ward. Mine was TMC 1 bedder, natural. Mummy: Charger, IC and nursing bra. Optional - Change of clothings, preferred pad (I brought 1 Kotex overnight panties), underwear, breast pump. Baby: Optional - Discharge clothings (Swaddles, romper/onesies, mittens, hats and booties) Daddy: 1 bedder only Change of clothings for 2-3 days. IC, cards for payment.

On ML, but gynae issued HL, can i use up my HL first and push forward my ML until i give birth?

Hello, FTM here. I’m currently in my 36th week. I’m planning to apply for my ML on my 38th week and i have a cervix appt in that week as well. If let’s say my gynae (not knowing i’m already on ML) decided to give me HL until i show signs of labour, can i use my HL first and push forward my ML until the day i give birth? Has anyone faced this before? Does it depend on the company we work for in terms of the flexibility? #firsttimemom #advicepls #FTM

It depends on your company. Should you be issued HL then you can bring forward your ML. As long as ML are use up according to what youve plan it should be fine.

How early can i be induced?

Hi mommies! I'm 33+3 today. Can i ask to induce on my next appt which i will be 35+4? Hahahahah. Does anyone feeling the same? Like you enjoy being pregnant but towards the end you just cant wait to give birth because you're excited to see your baby and at the same time cant wait for all the moodswings, tiredness, backache etc to disappear. #advicepls

moodswings and tiredness will be even more once you give birth my dear. Hahaha it wont go away! Once baby is out, it will be another challenge. My advice is..dont induce, let it come naturally! Enjoy your pregnancy journey with this one inside you ♥️🥰

33wks pregnant.Baby head up..is normal for this position unless I am 37wk onwards right?

Week 35+ and baby still in breech position too. Tried some of the exercise hopefully baby head is down during next visit.

Boss expects me to read emails during maternity. Is this normal? FTM here

Hi Mummies i am going on ML during week 38 and my boss told me 2days before my ML that he wants to have a handover call on the day my ML starts?! He also said if there are emails that need my help he might ask me during ML. I have been very nice n considerate to only take ML for 2.5mths and stagger the remaining 1.5mths in future. I have already emailed my handover and everything and told him wk38 onwards i might be in labour/on bed rest/ not available. He replied by saying "by ur edd is later right?" #firsttimemom

You should tell him off though. ML is a preparation time for your little one and yourself as well as getting rest. He cannot force you to do so unless you do it willingly.

Can share experience on induction?

Perhaps this can explain ur enquiry above. Ive been through induce for first child at 41 weeks. Contractions can be much more painful than normal contraction. I was in labour till the next day. Sometimes if induce not successful to speed up labour it can lead to emergency c section esp if you are too long in labour with waterbag break and baby has been too long inside. Not everyone has a tolerance level of pain. So it depends on individual body.

Are these pre-labour symptoms?

I had mild period-like cramps, gas, nausea and vomiting (once) since yesterday. Am in week 38+5 now, are these indications of pre-labour symptoms? I haven’t had any bloody show or mucus plug discharge at all!#firsttimemom #advicepls #firstbaby #FTM

This is not pre labour symptoms. However, if this continue within 24 hours, you are highly advice to go A&E to have it check with the doctor/gynae to check on you/baby's well being.

Pelvic soreness pain even every movement..it's normal my next appointment 10 Nov

Pelvic, ligament and other different body parts will feel very sore and pain as body preparing to go through labour. Hence, this is very much normal.

Hi Mummies, when does ur gyane check for cervix dilation/effacement during weekly visits? I'm 37+3

Hello, FTM here..i was told by some that their OBGYN starts to check for dilation or effacement during weekly checkups towards end of 3rd tri (36/37wks onwards). Is this usual practice? Thankyou! #firsttimemom #advicepls

Yeah about between 36 weeks to 40 weeks (depends on gynae/doctor), they will check for dilation, position of baby if fully engaged. Mine was check at 38 weeks and after was 40 weeks with membrane swab. Despite the dilation, I only give birth 1 week later through induce.
