Baby full month gift

Hi mums/parents, any idea for baby full month gift? I am not local, so wondering what are the common gifts for baby full month? Or is it up to me? If have any recommended vendors can share as well. Thank you!

Best is to give vouchers/red packet. Many times we all thought of the same gifts and the parents will end up with many duplicates so vouchers and red packets are the best. They can get whatever they want :)

39 weeks 4 days only 1cm dilated

3 more days to my EDD but no sign of labour yet. Doctor suggest to induce but i rejected it may cause soo much pain then a normal contraction . Should i be worried? Having pregnancy diabetes scared baby may grow more And could not normal delivery .

You should set a time frame till when your comfortable to wait, once you pass that- definitely speak to your doctor for your options. I pulled till 41 weeks trying for all natural, but ended up doing a c-section as I wasn’t dilating and had some complications. Good luck mama

Newborn eyes safety/sensitivity

Hi mums/parents, I am a FTM here. Just gave birth around 9 days ago. How bright light at home that is safe for newborn baby eyes? Wondering if baby stare at the ceiling, and happen to see the lights are ok. The lights are not close to baby, just that unsure if it is too strong for bb or not. TIA. :)

Hi, though baby doesn't stare at things for more than seconds, still I would advise not to use really bright lights in baby's room. May be upto 9 watts can be considered as safe provided limited number of lamps in a room.

Very Bsd experience with Post natal Massage Mdm Hanis (93782514)

I had very bad experience with mdm hanis Post natal Massage. She is never puncture on my session and do not have a fix timing to come on time every session and also having lots of request when I start our first session with her. She demand to turn on aircon, get her a stool and 4 towels to go with the massage and she lower down the temperature herself without my permission and request I must have spaghetti stripe to do binding otherwise afraid that she won't be able to do binding for me mentioned will cause allergy. This is my 4th pregnancy I never had masseur telling me that she cannot do binding with spaghetti stripe just like hunting in the jungle without certain equipment cannot hunt. I wanted to try her because of one review in SG mummy forum in 2008 quite long time ago but I am still curious about her skill so I wanted to try it out but to my surprise she is not turning up on time and every session she have excuses telling me she have heavy headache and refused to reply me. I still have 8 sessions with her and payment already fully settled. I am freaking unhappy with her excuses and arrangement because I can't have my meal on time or either bring baby for immunisation. Please do not engage her for her bad attitude and excuses otherwise will definitely regret for your decision. I hope I can tolerate her and finish up my session on quick and purpose of writing is to let all mummies be aware there are masseur with bad attitude around trying to collect full payment then refused to work. please take note not to engage such masseur.

Hubby can stay throughout till baby is out

Hello mummies can share when and which part hubby can stay overnight?tomorow getting induced as scheduled.. meaning to say induced took 24hr so it means hubby can stay until baby is out? Im so scared alone.. im a kkh sub

No husb can only stay when u are in active labour in the delivery ward..when u just start induce they put the pill in the observation ward my husb couldn’t stay overnight

Normal Delivery

Can I check how long does the stitches usually take to heal? Mine is second degree tear and after 7 days still painful. Seems like when I pee it's painful as well even though I am on Augmentin.

I took tramadol for the first week even thou it was bearable. Just want to make sure it’s as painless as possible. Wash the area with warm/cold water (whichever that makes you comfortable) and soap after every pee/poo. My tear was quite bad as well but I managed to function well after 4 days.

How long do I have to wait to start breast pump once wake up in the morning?

Hernia & its Surgery

My 2 weeks old baby boy had a follow up checkup at the hospital yesterday & the doctor says he has hernia. The paediatric surgeon further confirms he has hernia & expects us to admit my baby boy straightaway but I said to give me some time to think. Has anyone gone through this surgery with your baby boys before? I am feeling lost, sad & confused, all I can do is cry. He's still a newborn & has to be operated already. 😭 I know some say it's a minor surgery but what should I expect post-surgery? As in, what precautions should I take in order to not aggravate the pain my baby is feeling. 😞

My daughter went thru a hernia surgery at 2 weeks of age too. I was as lost as you are and upset thinking why must this happen to my daughter. The surgery eventually took only 30min, recovery after was also pretty manageable. Wound will be plastered with waterproof bandage , painkiller just give as prescribed. I didn’t like the idea of feeding paracetamol to my newborn but pls don’t repeat my mistake , I tried to drag the time between the medication feeds & I think she was in pain Cus she started to fuss

15 to 20 ml of breastmilk at day 12 postpartum

I'm at day 12 postpartum and have been pumping 15 to 20 ml of breastmilk each pumping session. Most of the breastmilk come from one breast, while only very little comes from the other breast. Is this normal? #advicepls #firsttimemom

This is normal for some mummies, you can try to direct latch on the first breast before the other. Continue pumping each breast for 15 to 20 mins. As this is just 12 days postpartum, it will definitely take time. You can also request for breast massage from massuese and they be able to advice. My milk flow wasn't stable for one of my breast, after massage, maintain food intake then I'm able to get more supply. But then again, result depend on individual. Don't give up.

How often do you let baby latch?

My baby is 13 days old. For the past 1 week plus, I have been letting my baby latch about 2 to 3 times a day. Is this frequent enough or should I try to let her latch more often? I'm still working on building up my milk supply and latching is not always successful.

It should be atleast 2 to 3 hrs apart and about 15 mins of each side. As they are sleeping most time, it will not be long sometimes for babies to latch.
