Hi mommies, my LO is currently 1 month old and is only drinking about 70ml of BM every 2-3 hours. Is he drinking enough? He does not want to drink anything more than that.

Every child’s intake is different, there is no specific amount for certain age. If he can take 70ML without spit ups or discomfort, can maintain 70ML since you mentioned he doesn’t want anymore after 70ML. Subsequently increase by 5-10ML as he grows and reduce back if he spit up often. Also do note that on some days (next should be around 3mo) during certain leaps eg milk strike or growth spurts, he will tend to drink lesser or more with shorter intervals. These are all normal and don’t have to worry as long as diaper output is good. 😊

Hi mama, doesn’t matter the amount. Although it can be left outside for 4 hours at room temperature, it is still advisable to store expressed milk in the fridge immediately if not intending to use yet. You can store the expressed milk in the fridge, then continue later and combine when all the milk is about the same temperature in the fridge.

Postpartum abdomen pain

I had severe cramps last night about 2am and it only subsided abt 4plus am. It was still painful esp during breastfeeding. I then took panadol abt 5am n slept till 8am without much pain. After bfast, i continued feeling pain only not as intensed as it was at 2am. My lower back has started to feel sore too. Now its midnight and i am still in pain. So far no other symptoms. Should i go dr or just wait it out.

Were you using epidural or c section or natural birth? PP Abdomen Pain occur for awhile however, during confinement I will highlight this with my masseuse to let her know of the pain. It could be the womb area, it could be blood clot not remove properly, etc then I will bind and wrap . This is to also maintain good posture when seating down. Because we use to have big bumps so after giving birth the excess skin stretch folded and cause pain in abdomen area causing discomfort same with lower back pain. However, if pain persistent get it check with doctor immediately and they will advise you.

Screaming toddler and a newborn

Can a screaming and yelling toddler affect a newborn's hearing? How to counter this issue? #StressMom

Perhaps with the presence of the newborn, your toodler gets excited and overwhelm. You can try to separate NB and toodler while the NB get some sleep. But it is also good for NB so that they are used to all the quiet and noises around. Unless your toodler dont scream near to NB then there shouldn't be any problem. You can also explain nicely to your toodler and make them understand to give private quiet time for your NB. It is hard but it will take time.

Similac comfort

Hi parents does Similac comfort helps with gassy baby with trouble burping and vomiting from overfeed? My newborn seems to want milk every hour or two but keeps having problems burping. He like to swallow his vomit too.#advicepls

Some newborn vomit or has difficulty burping if they drink too much milk or drink milk too quickly. Take time to burp baby and keep posture upright when burping. Feed in smaller amount instead. It could also be the bottle teats. However, if this continue, you are to ask doctor further advice.

Coconut water ~

Hello mummies, im going into week 28 after midnight, can I know when is the good time to consume coconut water and what brand of coconut water do you all drink? doesnt matter if its young or old coconut right? this is my 2nd pregnancy and for my first i only get to drink coconut water from week 36 onwards which is abit late for me because baby only came out when I ask for induction. 38 weeks 6 days,and i wish to have a natural water breaking for this pregnancy...

Fresh Coconut water is best. I got loads of them from Fairprice every week. My husband spent 10 minutes cracking 2 coconuts open daily 😀

How many times should a newborn poo per day? Previously baby poo about 5 to 7 times per day. However today she just poo once the whole day. Not sure if it's normal?

is the tummy very bloated hard or any uncomfortable to your baby? if no, then she's fine. just need her as per normal.
