5 month old baby suddenly super fussy

Hi mummies, my baby just turned 5 months old 2 days ago and he suddenly became super fussy and refuses to sleep in his crib. He used to be able to fall asleep on his own and sleep through the night but ever since he turned 5 months old he will wail super loudly when being placed down on his crib, and refuses to sleep except when being carried. He also suddenly dropped in his milk intake. He’s currently coughing a little bit and having a bit of congestion, so I’m not sure if that’s why. But the change is super drastic so we’re a bit worried. Any mummies faced the same issue?? #advicemommies #firsttimemom

My baby is 5mo and I experienced the same too. I fix it by adjusting his wake window (overtired/undertired will make him super cranky). Recommended ww for 5mo is 2-3Hr. My baby for his 3 naps, ww: 1h45min. If 2hr or later he will not be able to self settle and need a lot of effort to make him slp. Before bedtime his ww is 3Hr. You should trial and error on the timing till you find the sweet spot for your baby. Another thing could be teething too, I noticed my baby grow 2 teeth at the bottom! For dropping milk intake, if your baby is peeing and pooping well should be fine. Baby can self regulate their milk intake 3mo onwards. My baby also suddenly drop milk intake by a lot but he’s still happy and fine Hope this helps😊

Moody baby after going IFC

Hi mummies, my almost-5 months old has been pretty moody after starting IFC last week :( He used to babble a lot, smile and laugh but he's not been doing that lately, especially on weekdays 😭😭😭 Anyone going through the same thing? I feel heartbroken but dont know if it's normal...

Diapers for Big Thigh

Hi parents, my baby is 4mth plus and weighing around 8kg or more now with a bigger thigh. Currently using mamy poko tape diapers & it seems too tight for her thigh area. Any recommendations for diapers with bigger hole for the thigh area? Thanks in advance!

Size up or change brands. personally I feel Huggies is ang mo brand so cutting bigger. baby don't wear pants so I can't advise

Night feeding cut off

Hi there. My baby is 5 months old and drinking 90mls Q3 hourly feeding. I was thinking of how to cut the night feeds. Any advice?

increase the intake or shorten the time. personally I feel that 90mls is quite low, my LO is 120mls every 3 hourly

Baby not gaining weight

Hi my baby was in 90th percentile when he’s 1 & 2 months old. 3 months onwards he’s been drinking very little and didn’t gain much weight. He’s coming to 4 months old now and he’s now around 50-75th percentile. Wondering any mummies experience the same situation whereby baby not gaining weight? His weight has been the same for 1 month from 3 months onwards, is that ok? Baby used to be able to drink up to 1100ml per day. Now average he drink only 450-580ml. He’s on both bm and formula #firsttimemom #firstmom #advicepls

Take care of baby

Though having help to take of baby is good. But sometimes may have confict as everyone have different thinking towards taking care of baby. Mil think baby is like this. Fil thinks baby is like this. Should i follow their way to take care of baby to prevent conflict? Since they want to take care of the baby cause the first grandson. Will they think i not responsible for my lo?. I just dont want to conflict and so dont want give suggestion.

Most conflicts are usually dil and pil not agreeing on each others way of handling baby, but since you’re okay with following their way, I don’t think they will think you’re not being responsible. But while you’re allowing them to have the flexibility of having their way, it’s good to let them know some of the dos and do nots (eg don’t feed water before 6months, don’t give chocolates and etc etc).

Being mum is really tiring and stressful. I am feeling tired but cannot sleep as waiting for my lo to wake up for milk. How i wish i can sleep anytime anywhere. No need to worry about when my lo wake up. Do you have this problem?

Someone to talk to..

My baby is 3.5months now. My hubby say he can take care alone on monday and friday. And can send me to work and off work along with baby. Tue wed thur baby at grandparents place. But i still feel worried. And they dont want to send to infant care. Plus grandparents age 70. Sometime i asked myself was it a right choice to have kids. #firsttimemom #randomtalk
