Those white thingy on baby tongue

I know must use oral wipes to clean it off, but does it cause infection? And how do I know it's infection?#advicepls

No infection. That's milk stain. So if you don't clean mouth will be dirty, smell and the milk stain on the tongue will thicken.

Infant bottle incorrect marking

We just found out pigeon softouch pp bottle markings are incorrect. We tried using a 10ml syringe to pump water into the bottle 3 times to test, but it showed 40ml when its 30ml. Does anyone else have this problem?

yup, it's quite prevalent. Hegen bottles also have this problem. I think they are manufactured in different phases, so quality is like that. so far my kid is ok drinking

Breastfeeding and sashimi

My Bday is around the corner and I am planning to eat sashimi is it safe during breastfeeding? I've read that it is safe.. But what are your thoughts on this? #FTM #firsttimemom #sashimi #breastfeeding

yes it’s safe for breastfeeding. just not safe for pregnancy.

I wake my baby up early morning to bathe and feed her and bring to my mum's place.

Baby looks tired and dazed 😳 due to lack of sleep. Is this very bad routine? But I need to go work so I have to bring her to my mom's place early in the morning so my mum can take care of her. Now I see baby so tired, I feel so guilty of this early morning routine. Any advice? #firsttimemom #pleasehelp #advicepls

How about not showering her early, just wipe?

Infant puking milk

My LO is going 4 weeks in a few days. We are BF him in the day and FM at night. He’s currently drinking 90ML (LO weighs 4KG) for both types of milk. He often vomits out milk after maybe 30 mins to an hour of drinking the milk despite already burping him. Are we feeding him too much milk? He occasionally pukes out BM but for FM, it’s getting more frequent. Almost every feed. Please advise 🙏 FTM here.

You can try stagger feeding him. So for example 90ml you can stop to burp him after every 30ml he feeds. So you will need to burp him 2 times in between and 3 times in total. It could be he’s drinking too fast and taking in a lot of air during his feed.

Baby fell asleep when feeding

My baby fell asleep many times during feeding. Sometimes she don't wake up even burp her or shake her gently to wake her up. In the end, I have to pour away the milk and it's such a wastage. If I don't feed her, she will cry. But I admit sometimes I can't tell if she is hungry or just cranky and want to sleep. What should I do? Is this normal?#pleasehelp #FTM

it takes awhile to get used to bb’s cues, it’s normal for babies to sleep during feed. you can pour out lesser and probably stand by another bottle for next feed instead?

Should i give up breastfeeding?

Baby is just pass 1 month old. Confinement nanny has left and i do not have additional help (no relatives available and due to space and finances, unable to hire FDW). Husband works in office and mainly cares for elder child after work. Feeling overwhelmed as baby usually not willing to latch on as my supply is low. On average i need 3 pump sessions to get enough for baby's 1 feed. 1) Should i just stop attempting to breastfeed/pump? 2) Any suggestions for hiring help other than FWD and those who charge by the hr?

I suggest can do mix feeding. Feed BM and then add on FM for every feed. Breastfeeding took a toll on my mental so I just did whatever that made me feel happier. As long as baby is safe.

Breastfeeding and alcohol

I’ve drank 2 jugs of beer at a bar earlier.. I’m currently exclusively pumping milk and feeding my baby. I will Be pumping and dumping the milk but when will the milk be “ok” to feed my baby?

I would drink after pump then the next pump session (3hours) should be safe for consumption. But of course it depends on how much you drank. If you’re sober enough (not wasted), it should be alright cause by the time the content passes thru your body, the percentage in your bm is actually very very minimal. Alternatively, you can pump and do milk bath for baby if you don’t feel safe enough to feed.
