Hi, my baby currently at 23 days old. Is it normal for her to latch for one hour? At times she will bf 5min at her supposed 3 hour time , then she will want to drink again 1 or 2 hour later. But at times, she will latch for 1 hour or more yet seems hungry. Do we also need to pump after every feed? As I SAHM, so most of the time i let her latch but if i really need to do housechore ill let her drink formula. TIA

1hr is pretty long. You can do 20 to 30 mins latch, then pump and keep ur stash. If she demands more milk, you can top up with bottle feed FM/EBM alternate with direct latch. She's drinking quite good but sometimes we can't keep up. Letting baby to latch too long or every 15 to 20 mins though she demand is not good. Your nipple will get blister. My first child demands milk every 15 to 20 mins though during her feeding time she drink pretty good. So I will top up with bottle feed with FM and let her have her pacifier (when needed) This is to also avoid her from being overfed and vomit too. You do the feeding time routine and to ensure she doesn't over feed. You can also do house work easily without getting distrupted.

Im just 5cm taller but my gynae didnt ask me to csec unless my baby remained breech.. unless baby is big then possible y ur gynae wan u go for csec.. i heard ppl say binder helps.. i tink..

there’s no such thing, jaundice will take time to clear on its own as the organs mature. BM or FM works

Can I still BF?

Hello mummies. My nips are shallow and inverted. I’m currently giving my newborn a mix of FM and EBM. Does any mummy have a successful experience of direct latching? I tried using a nipple shield but it hurts and is more uncomfortable compared to latching. Please help me out!

Yes, I used to have the same problem like you. Fortunately I am able to feed her and until today I am still direct breastfeeding my 2 years plus child. What you do is, take a cloth make it wet with hot water and massage on your nipple, then once it started to pop out quickly feed your baby. You have to do this few times, and then your nipples will start to pop out eventually and will be easier to direct feed. Sometimes you can even massage it on and off.

Newborn not pooping

Hi mommies, my 9 days old newborn is on mainly formula has not poop for a day. Last poop was 4am (night of wed), today is Friday. Any advice? I’m worried.. thanks!

Hello! I was scheduled for an induction this coming Sunday as this coming Sunday was my EDD. Till now still no sign of labour yet.. I heard and have read a lot of articles regards on induce, how is the procedures? And the pain level? This is my 4th pregnancy, I never take epidural for all my past 3 pregnancy, so I won’t be taking epidural for this too.

All I can say induce can be pretty long and once waterbag broke, contractions can be much painful then normal. Your endurance level has to be high. First child I was induce at 41 weeks more than 12 hrs in labour. Took jab, gas and epidural and give birth next day. If either of those birth plan don't work, it may lead to other like c section, vacuum assisted delivery.

39+2 days - no sign of labour

Considering if I should be induce before week 40, or wait out till week 41? Hoping bb will be out so that don’t have to induce, but no signs… #FTM

If this is your first child it might be long. It depend if your gynae/doctor allow to hold till 41 weeks. For me in NUH they allow to hold till 41 weeks and give me letter for induce if no sign of labour within 1 week. However, for KKH I wasn't allow to exceed 41 weeks since it is my second child. I wasn't induce at 40 weeks 1 day. Give birth next day.

Tomorrow I’ve appointment @ KKH, will they check my cervix whether got dilate? Or? So far still no sign of labour yet. Any mummy experiencing the same as me? #advicepls

I had cervix check at 39 weeks and 40 weeks. This is for second child. I was 3cm dilate at 39 weeks, came back 40 weeks, no signs of labour. Then, next day (40 weeks 1 day) was suppose to be induce with a letter stating to go labour. But, got decline as priority was given to those urgent cases. Endure more than 12 hrs of 3 cm dilation with mild contractions. I was only in labour 40 weeks 2 days and give birth the morning. If this is your first child may take long. But, some mummies second child might be fast. Depends on individual. For me, both pregnancy exceed EDD. My first at NUH, second at KKH.
