It is believed that attachment will help build a child’s intelligence. When a parent is close to his/her child, the parent will be more attuned to the child’s inner mental processes and will also be more responsive to the baby. These will help promote secure attachments which appear to contribute to higher IQ. It is also suggested that children who feels connected to their parent(s) will become more interest in learning because they understand that learning is valuable to people who matter to them. Another tip to help increase your child’s intellectual performance is to praise your child for his/her effort and not how “smart” he/she is. This will help motivate a child to learn from their mistakes and continue trying in the face of challenges.
