gestational diabetes

Gestational diabetes can come about for any pregnant woman. As long as she controls her blood glucose levels well throughout the pregnancy (diet control, medication, regular monitoring of blood glucose levels), she and baby should be alright:) Also ensure she goes for every antenatal appointment and scan, and monitor the growth of baby + her weight gain. If the hospital offers classes/counselling for gestational diabetes (I know NUH has that), then both of you should go too.
