Thinking habits are formed gradually day in day out and especially so when met with certain circumstances. We could either leave it to chance and circumstances to determine the habits or to guide and develop positive and healthy thinking habits. With good thinking habits, the child can be more independent, more of a solver of problems and can find it easier to attain good success in the future. They are therefore unlikely to be easily daunted and are more adaptable if we cultivate them right. We can observe and be a source of aid when they are going through a task or problem and see/encourage them to be persistent and to seek help and be on task. Let the child take the lead and guide along the way - give affirmation for the positives and get them to think of alternatives instead of a negative thinking (eg. Giving up)
