It is important for a few reasons. - In a case of a fall or blow on the tummy, it can affect whether the baby is harmed. (If placenta is front of womb, such an incident can cause haemorrhage and is dangerous - If your placenta position is low, you will need a c-section. You will also have a higher risk of haemorrhage, so any bleeding can be dangerous for both you and your baby.
