what's your insights about using "pasa"? It is a piece of cloth, usually triangular in shape but folded to make a band, and is put in the waist of a child.

Is "pasa" the same as bigkis? If yes, I would advice against it. Even hospitals do. According to my baby's pedia, the goal is to dry umbilical cord stump but with "pasa" or "bigkis", moisture is actually trapped which is why it's not recommended.

yes it is the same.. how about using it after the umbilical cord has fallen off and dried?.. elderly told me to put pasa so baby wont have "kabag". Also, they said it is also to avoid baby "maglakihin ang tyan" when he grows up. Others even claim that it creates shape for girl's body.

Our pediatrician advised not to use "pasa" para daw mahanginan yung pusod at hindi magmoist.
