Allergic rhinitis, commonly known as hay fever, can be caused by an array of things as mentioned by Nooraini above. Since moving to Sweden, I'm much more aware of hay fever because it is pretty much a national affair each time Spring rolls by. I haven't been affected by it but as soon as the flowers start to sprout and the air gets warmer, so do the sales of hay fever medication. My fiance's younger sister can get badly affected by hay fever because she already has existing allergies to pollen, cat hair and she also has asthma. It is usually not serious and will pass in a week or so. However, if you are affected, you can easily get OTC medication in the pharmacies here. Home remedies include installing an air purifier in the home.
