I personally wouldn’t consider the factor of having a second child just because they will be lonely or next time have someone to share financial burden when we pass on etc etc. Only child also have good things and eventually will have friends, spoilt or not all depends on their upbringing, nothing to do with being the only child. My younger siblings are strawberry spoilt brats😒. I wanna be sure I can financially afford raising both kids, most importantly, enough love to balance between them so no one feels left out (in most cases, it’s always the older sibling). I am the second out of 6 siblings but although I have so many siblings, I am often left out. My mother loves my older sis since she’s the first child, then the younger siblings after me since they are younger. So whatever I do, she thinks it’s wrong. The good thing about a bigger age gap (3 is good enough) is that the older siblings can start to understand things better and can help to guide the younger sibling. Apart from parents, they are the next example for the younger one. Even so, some jealousy and fightings are unavoidable. And having a sibling does not guarantee they will bond forever. I am only close to 3/6 siblings. Future wise, we can only guide them, what path they choose is solely up to them. Ultimately, you do you. Don’t get pressured and affected by people around you telling you that you should get 1 kid 2 kids etc.
I was a single child for 9 years then my sibling came along. Not to be thick skinned but i was the kind of kid every parent would wish for. Haha! So spoilt or not, depends on how your teachings and disciplining.
mm.. true
