Are the various types of intelligences genetic? What makes a child have more or less of any type of intelligence?

If I'm not mistaken, Dr Gardner made reference to the evolution psychology (among other areas) when coming up with the theory of multiple intelligence. Hence, I would hazard a guess that genes would definitely play in a part in affecting what the child is innately born with. That being said, as with most discussions, I think environment would play a part in shaping a child as well. Therefore, exposure may also help determine which intelligence the child may excel in. Just my speculation though. Food for thought. :)
