Is it too early for six year olds to be drinking coffee? Naaalala ko yung first time grandmother let me drink coffee and I was maybe five or six.

Consistently? Or just tried it once? I don't think kids should be exposed to more than 45mg of caffeine a day. Despite the rumors that it stunts growth, research has proved otherwise. In any case, caffeine causes jitteriness/nervousness, upset stomach, headaches, difficulty concentrating, difficulty sleeping, increased heart rate, and increased blood pressure....all of which are things you probably don't want to expose kids to. If it was just once, though. It won't cause any longterm damage or anything. http://kidshealth.org/en/parents/child-caffeine.html

My mom told me na hindi daw ako tatangkad and titigas ang ulo if uminom ako ng coffee nung bata ako... pero hindi naman yun masyado totoo sa paningin ko (although hindi nga ako tumangkad!). Some of my friends though na maaga nagstart ng coffee ay nagdevelop ng hyperacidity agad, so I guess dapat lahat ay in moderation :)

I think generally any form of caffeine is not healthy both for kids and adults. Especially if you're thinking of giving it on a regular basis. If you can, better not to introduce it anymore and give healthier drinks instead.

While I started drinking coffee for breakfast around that age, it is best to have them drink milk, juices or chocolate instead. Coffee may cause upset stomach or difficulty in sleeping to your child.

For me age six is still too early. There are other drinks like milk or chocolate milk drinks which are better alternative for kids instead of giving them coffee.
