how to prevent baby from popping earlier than EDD?

My LO popped out few weeks before my EDD. Throughout my pregnancy and bi-weekly/monthly consultation. Gync did not mention anything about baby coming out early and we are expecting him to come out close to the EDD. But baby just popped out one fine day (because i am already 5-6cm diluted when I rush to the hospital) so everyone around was telling me that if baby want to come out, we can't stopped him from coming out. 😂
