Hello po, babies need only a few spoonfuls as they begin po eating solids and we should focus more on nutrient-rich foods especially green veggies. We cannot give honey rin po before 1 year of age because of the risk of infant botulism. Since these first foods are complements and not replacements for your breast milk, a general rule for the quantity of food to offer to a child is one tablespoon per age of each food provided per meal, with more given if the child requests. Half of the “plate” should be vegetables and fruits, and the other half grains and proteins, with dairy on the side. Children should get 2-3 servings of vegetables to ensure adequate intake of nutrients, vitamins and minerals. it’s best to offer them after a late afternoon or evening feeding, when your milk supply is apt to be at its lowest and your baby may still be hungry. When it comes to milk –if breast-fed po – by your baby’s desire.
