I think should first ask the student if he or she is in the right frame of mind to study. Maybe 2-3hours a day. No point forcing if he or she cant concentrate and too tired for the day

Children in general can only focus for so long...no point pushing them longer if nothing goes in their head anyway...

Quality > Quantity If my child can understand and complete her task in 3 hours, I wouldn’t deprive her break time
