Postnatal depression - is that psychological? Biological?

It is not an exact science. As much as your family history can increase your chances of having postnatal depression other factors like your stress levels, your sleep etc can either increase it or decrease it. Being a new mum can be tough and peer pressure can make you feel like your not an A+ mum all the time. So, it's very important that you take care of yourself in those first few months. In fact, it is as important as taking care of your baby! Always be aware of your emotions and how you're feeling, surround yourself with help and good company and talking to someone if you're feeling low all the time.
