I did a bit of research on it when I was pregnant and this was one of the options I considered, along with water birth. It is very costly. The package costs $2,275 and that's only if you have attended their classes before. Hypnobirthing Packages http://www.fourtrimesters.com/our-team/doula-birth-packages/ Local artiste Joanne Peh had a totally drug free labour, but it took her 16 hours and even though she practised breathing techniques, she still seemed to be in a lot of pain. I delivered my baby with the aid of laughing gas, and my labour was considered a fast one for a first time mother, at 4 hours from the time I reached the hospital until I gave birth. I had read about breathing techniques and meditation and I had a stress free pregnancy, so I tried as much as possible to focus on breathing, but well... the pain got to me so the laughing gas really helped. Honestly speaking? I'm not too convinced and I think depending on the hospital you deliver at, the midwives do a good enough job at comforting you. If you practice yoga, I think you won't need hypnobirthing courses. It's all in the mind. http://sg.theasianparent.com/hypnobirthing-singapore/

I have some friends who engaged a doula and attended hypnobirthing course and find it is very helpful in pain relief. The course fees is not cheap. You can try to call up "fourthtrimester" to check out the details on course content and fees.

thanks
