Umm you can be like a friend to them but not exactly like usual friends. there’s a difference actually. It can be difficult to draw the line and be firm if you’re like friends. Not sure what the others think?

You can be a friend, but not really a friend as you are a parent and you want your kids to learn and be the best of themselves.

Kids will open up more to a friend than parent. So in order for me to know my son more I always treat him as a friend

Yes, anything I would do to understand and love them in the best way.

Yes otherwise your child will never share secrets or open to us

Yes but they also should know that they need to listen to you

How else are they going to share their thoughts with you?

I think can be friendly but lines have to be drawn too

I want to be as close as possible to my kid

Otherwise ur kid will not open up to you
