Bowel movement of 3 month old baby

Our 3-month-old's bowel movements vary from day to day. Sometimes he has several in one day and none the next. Should we be concerned? #babypoop #bowel #3month

There isn’t really an exact guide as to what constitutes “normal” when it comes to baby’s bowel movement frequency. The more important point would be that your baby’s stools are reasonably soft. You shouldn’t be too concerned if your baby is still acting like his usual self. As a guide, once a feeding schedule is more or less established, a baby's bowel movement frequencies may vary from more than five times a day to once every two to three days. Signs which indicate that medical advice should be sought include: - breastfed or formular-fed baby has not had bowel movement for more than three or five days, respectively - stools are hard and pebbly (instead of soft) - stools are thin, watery or mucus like - stools are red or black or white You baby's bowel movements is quite normal and you shouldn't be too worried. Just watch out for some of the signs listed above and consult your doctor if you sense something amiss. That's normal. My baby has no bowel patterns also. There are times that she poops every other day, there are times that she does daily. Sometimes 2 days later. It really varies. Don't be alarmed. It's just fine.
