Common but NOT normal. Make sure po to learn how to DEEP LATCH. Common po ang nipple pain sa breastfeeding moms kasi ang usual advice na natatanggap natin ay "natural lang yan. Tiisin mo lang, masasanay ka rin" 😢 but the truth is that breastfeeding is NOT supposed to be painful. Kapag masakit po, i-unlatch si baby and try again (insert a clean finger sa pisngi ni baby to break the suction). Medyo challenging po at first na mamaster ang deep latch pero once nakuha nyo na po, it's well worth it. Watch this video on how to avoid nipple pain: https://youtu.be/WVEABNhXr1A?si=Y1f8voRdjOHSp51D For breast engorgement, you need po to express some milk (hand expression or pump) to relieve the pressure, then ipalatch kay baby. Kapag sobrang engorged/ malakas ang milk pressure, aayaw si baby kaya better na mabawasan muna yung pressure. You can apply cold compress/ cold cabbage leaf for relief. Or kung may clogged ducts (parang namamaga/ masakit na bukol), apply hot compress before latching baby to help with the blood circulation, then do breast massages habang nakalatch si baby to unclogged the milk ducts. Be wary of mastitis (red and swollen breast, with fever), punta po agad ng hospital if this is the case. If may milk bleb po (white spots sa nipple), parang milk pore po sya na na-block ng milk, masakit at mahapdi po. First, to address the cause at para maiwasan, make sure po na naka deep latch si baby. As for treatment, tiis na lang po muna pero kailangan na patuloy ipalatch kay baby para mawala. Ito po effective treatment sakin "Saline solution. To remove the blockage, soak the nipples in a solution of salt and warm water." https://www.medicalnewstoday.com/articles/321714#best-remedies
