Sensitive nips

My nipples are swollen, itchy, and sooo sensitive. One remedy I saw was to lather it with vitamin E lotion whenever it acts up. But I have to make sure... Is it okay to put anything on the nips? Wouldn't that clog the pores or what? Thank you ❤
