It's understandable to feel worried when your newborn fails a hearing test, especially as a first-time mom. Many parents go through similar experiences, so you are not alone in this. In such situations, it's important to remember that newborn hearing tests can sometimes produce false results, and it doesn't necessarily mean there is a serious problem. Your healthcare provider will likely recommend further evaluation to confirm the results and determine the next steps. Reaching out to support groups or seeking advice from experts in the field can also provide reassurance and valuable information. Remember to stay positive and proactive in addressing any concerns regarding your child's hearing health. If you need any additional support or information, consider speaking to your healthcare provider or a specialist in newborn hearing assessments. They will be able to provide further guidance and support based on your specific situation. Feel free to share more details or ask any specific questions you may have so that we can provide more targeted support and advice. Remember, seeking professional help and staying informed are key steps in addressing concerns about your newborn's hearing. If you are looking for more information or resources about newborn hearing tests, you can visit trusted medical websites or reach out to your healthcare provider for guidance. https://invl.io/cll6she

I had natural delivery but my baby also failed his right ear hearing test so I had to repeat the test again when he was 2 weeks old. Don't worry about it as it takes time for the fluid to clear from his ear. My boy passed the test during the repeat test.

Yes, just let it dry off naturally (don't dig his ears etc) and when you bathe him, take care not to let water get into the ear.

Did you delivered via c sect? Babies delivered via c sect have higher chance to fail because they cannot clear the fluid faster like normal delivery babies do. Maybe your baby needs more time to clear the fluid.

Any idea what’s the longest it will take? My baby still fail at 12 days and the nurse said the same thing that it’s common to fail and baby need more time to clear. I just can’t help but feel so worried.

My baby failed his hearing test too upon discharge. After discharged have to go appt for follow up after 2 weeks. Referred to ENT specialist. They did hearing test and pass.
