It's better to feed newborn every 2-3 hourly, especially if the baby with jaundice. I let my newborn sleep as I thought they will cry for milk when hungry, which I didn't know jaundice baby tend to sleep a lot and we have to wake them up to feed them instead. End up baby have to go back for phototherapy when he is just 5 days old.

my lo slept 7hrs without waking up for milk, i tried everything to wake her, she refuses to drink & cried for an hour n still didn’t drink. she was 5 days old

Wake her up feed every 3 hrs. Our gynae, his team and the nurses all told us to do that even if baby didn't wake to drink. My girl no jaundice.

It’s normal but it’s better you wake her/him up to feed her/him (2-3 hours)..breast milk could reduce the jaundice...

Super Mum

NB need to be feed every 2-3hrs. It's better to wake them up. Only after 3 month.. then u can just let them sleep through.

That's what the nurse at Mt Alvernia told me. Try dream feed 👍

I think it's alright if she is already 1mo. Some babies are able to sleep for 6h straight at night at this age

Newborn should drink at least 3 hourly. If not they might not be hydrated. Check for diaper output as well.

Better to dream feed.. unless 2 - 3 months onwards then should be fine if he is growing normally

Actually best would be to keep feeding the NB every 2-3 hours as they get dehydrated

Make sure baby drink enough milk during the day. If no jaundice should be fine.
