I will avoid giving any drug for night terror. Night terror is not a sickness and it might be just a phase. Try to understand the causes behind and eliminate the triggers accordingly. Night terrors have been noted in kids who are: -overtired or ill, stressed, or fatigued -taking a new medication -sleeping in a new environment or away from home There's no treatment for night terrors, but you can help prevent them. Try to: -reduce your child's stress -establish and stick to a bedtime routine that's simple and relaxing -make sure your child gets enough rest -prevent your child from becoming overtired by staying up too late http://www.sheknows.com/parenting/articles/813052/13-tips-for-handling-night-terrors-in-kids http://kidshealth.org/parent/general/sleep/terrors.html# If you are not confident in handling night terror, you can seek sleep therapist from KKH or NUH and they will assist accordingly. You can get a referral letter from polyclinic and will get referral to the hospital.

I think your child is too young to receive any sort of drug or sedative. My daughter also had trouble sleeping and would wake up crying for no reason at all. What I did was to make sure she has her dinner by 630, wash up and get her to settle in bed by 8. I would then read her whatever books that she chose, and she'd fall asleep. This routine had worked for us and she sleeps much more comfortably ever since.

Sedative is not good for the child. Choose calming activities to relax your toddler for the night, such as a bath, followed by a story and a soothing lullaby. Make sure you do the same things at the same time every night so he knows what to expect. You should also consult a chid specialist.

Just to make a proper routine for your child. Like make him sleep early and try to read good books to him/her. Consult a sleep therapist if the problem persist

thanks
