When to introduce pacifier to newborn?

Hi Mummies, When is it best to introduce pacifier to my newborn ? He is currently 26 days old and I am breastfeeding him as well as doing top up sometimes with bottle. Sometimes the baby cries too much, hence I am wondering if now is a good time to introduce pacifier or need to wait ? #advicepls #firstbaby

Hi mama! I introduced pacifier to my bb when he was 1 week old to keep my sanity. But if you intend to direct latch for long term, I would suggest not to as it may cause nipple confusion resulting in bb not wanting to latch next time.

It depends on when you would like to introduce. Sometimes, they kick a fuss because milk aint enough or either their tummy gassy.

You can use this type of soothe from Philip Avent.

personal preference, you could offer the boobs too. Best not to give pacifier if you want to prevent nipple confusion.

I give it to my newborn when she’s too tired, to soothe her and get her to sleep.

in my case, my LOs rejected pacifiers outright 😅
