Stomach tightness

Hi mummies, I’ve been feeling tightness throughout the time I wake up from my sleep at 7plus or so until now. I’m 35 weeks now going to 36. Not sure if I should go KKH and check it out and my pregnancies are all smooth just that I am currently 2cm dilated and no mucus plug or anything.

Hi there, Stomach tightness can be quite common in the later stages of pregnancy, especially as your body prepares for labor. Since you mentioned you're already 2cm dilated, it's possible that these sensations could be Braxton Hicks contractions, which are often felt as a tightening or hardening of the uterus. These "practice" contractions help prepare your body for the real thing but aren’t usually as regular or painful as true labor contractions. However, since you're at 35-36 weeks and already experiencing some dilation, it’s always a good idea to be cautious. You should monitor if the tightness becomes more frequent, regular, or intense. If you notice any changes in your baby's movements, if the tightness is accompanied by pain, or if you have any other symptoms like bleeding or leaking fluid, it would be wise to head to KKH or contact your healthcare provider immediately. In the meantime, make sure you're staying well-hydrated and trying to rest as much as possible. Sometimes dehydration can exacerbate these feelings of tightness. If you haven't already, consider investing in a good maternity corset to provide some extra support and comfort during these final weeks. Here’s one I recommend: [Maternity Corset](https://invl.io/cll7h96). Take care and wishing you a smooth and safe delivery! https://invl.io/cll6she

Should you feel concern, you should call labour to have you under observation and monitor your baby's heart beat, signs of contractions through CTG.
