Vaginal exam (VE) question

Hi mummies! I’m on my 32nd week. I’m just wandering if vaginal examination that dr’s conduct on us can caused harm to the baby/pre term labour/open of cervic? Thanks.

Don’t worry :) your obstetrician is experienced enough and knows what to do and what not to do in a simple routine VE. The only time their examination can potentially induce labour is when they do cervical stretching/membrane sweep, which is usually done with that very goal in mind (and they would most definitely inform you beforehand as well). Otherwise, they’re more than knowledgeable in their field to not cause any unnecessary harm to your baby.

If it’s a quick exam, there should be no issues. I mean, people do have intercourse at 32 weeks, which is also okay in most cases…

My gynae didn’t do any cervix check or membrane sweep at all until my waterbag broke and I was admitted then the doctor checked.

Definately safe..trust the process, trust your doctor and relax k.
