hello mummies and daddies, my 26 mth old is badly constipated. Constipation started about 6 mths ago. She would strain so hard and would bring the whole house down with her screams :( When she finally has a "go", stools are as hard as rock and sometimes a little bloody. Doc just prescribed Lactulose, which she hates taking. We mask it in her full cream milk which she takes while im at work. When Im home, i bf her. Solids wise, she takes rice quite a bit. Rejects all fruits except for grapes. Takes probiotic supplements and loves yogurt. She has not gained weight for the past 6 mths. Otherwise, she looks healthy and is active. We have tried fiber rich food, which she is completely rejecting and have increased water intake. Any advice?

Since she likes yogurt, have you tried making smoothies for her? Smoothies are a great way to sneak and hide high fiber fruit and veggies. My mom used to make smoothies for me and my siblings when we were kids just to trick us into eating our veggies and fruits. This Web page has plenty of awesome smoothie ideas that are baby-friendly. Perhaps you can give them a try? http://wholesomebabyfood.momtastic.com/babysmoothiesrecipes.htm
