Induce at 39w or wait until 40w?

Hi moms! I am at 38th week now. My gynae said if by the 39th week my cervix doesn’t efface and dilate yet, she suggest to induce. Should I agree to this or should I wait until 40th week for natural induce? #pleasehelp #firstbaby #experiences Thanks in advance!
