Hospital Selection for Delivery of 1st Child

Hi Mommies, I've shortlisted the following possibilities to give birth (already have a potential preferred gynae for each option). 1. KKH 2. NUH 3. PEH 4. TMC 5. MEMC Which of the above would you recommend? What factors should my husband and I consider when making our final selection?

Super Mum

I delivered at NUH. Main reason is because of the gynae I wanted. Other reasons include the excellent neonate doctors/services, the fact that private centres refer complex pregnancy cases there (so I might as well just go there straight), and some familiarity with the place. Other things you may want to consider... distance from your home/workplace, how long you’re willing to wait to see your doctor (in general, private centres have shorter waiting times), whether you want a package for your antenatal visits (eg. Comparing KKH and NUH, only the latter has an antenatal package from 22 weeks, if I’m not wrong)

Gynae and their cost. Then go for hospital. Not all gynae go to all hospital. I think most importantly is which gynae you are comfortable with. For me is about the experience. I preferred gynae who had at least 20 years experience.

Choose kkh, because it is a hospital with lots of specialist and they are specialist in women and child . Secondly if there is any problem, other hospital will still refer you to kkh because kkh got all the equipment.

tmc in my opinion has the friendliest staffs, very memorable experience. kkh is best if u have any concerns about baby, ultimately is anything happens, they will still refer to kkh

chose kkh. there's alot of hidden cost in the hosp bill for pte hospital, they also dun have the facilities if complications arises for mummy & bb, will still refer back to kkh.

We chose 3 due to experience and gender of the gynaecologist, and distance from our residence.
