Weaning

My LO is 6m+ now. For a start, we have been feeding him few teaspoonful of rice cereal for 4 days. To make our LO feel fuller at night, from 5th day onwards the last feeding we added a tablespoon full of cereal to mix with his formula. Is this correct procedure for weaning? Are we feeding LO too much rice cereal for a start?

The recommendation is to not add cereal to milk feeds, and to give them separately. You can give 2 little feeds of solids each day, not a problem:) a few teaspoons each time is fine. You can keep increasing as tolerated, and also introduce new foods every 3 days, looking out for allergies
