Choking on saliva while asleep

My lo is 2.5 months and recently he kept choking on his saliva while asleep. What should I do? Which position is good for him so that he can have a good sleep?

Perhaps to position him on his side? My babygirl is 2.5 months too and she sleeps better on her side.

Drooling a lot but doesn’t choke on her saliva when asleep. Only when she’s awake, will cough once or twice sometimes when we lay her flat on her back, and we’ll just reposition her onto her side or carry her upright.
