Lactus syrup for loosen of hard stools and constipation during pregnancy.

Hi would like to check anyone ever purchase lactuse syrup for loosen of stools in constipation during pregnancy? Currently in 26weeks and just bought off that over the counter. Any idea how much ml and how many times is safe to take?

You need to check if the brand you purchased is safe for pregnancy. The brand my gynae prescribed is called Duphalac. 10ml 3 times a day. But I would suggest to hold off the laxatives until last resort because your body can get used to having laxatives and it will very quickly become useless. Try drinking loads of water and increase your fiber intake and don’t rely on laxatives unless absolutely necessary. Don’t take it too often as well. Pregnancy constipation will only get worse as the pregnancy progresses. :)

ohh. ya the 1 got from pharmacy is duphalac, took 2 times of 10ml also bcos had a very bad constipation that stools at the entrance but couldn't pass out. After taking 2 times of 10ml finally managed to clear bowels and I stop taking le.

I have taken these 2 before, either one of them based on daily dosage Forlax - once a day Duphalac - 10ml x 3 a day if it is very very bad, else 10ml x 2 a day Try eat papaya / red dragon fruit. It helps me a lot
